Lonely Princess

Well, there's an old English proverb - Grass is Greener on the Other Side. Most of us think, that rich people are so happy, because they got money to buy them happiness, but we tend to forget that - money only buys you materialistic happiness and not true happiness... And thus we need to learn to remain happy with whatever we got and not envy others, but of course, that certainly doesn't mean we should stop aiming for higher achievements... Just that, we should remain grounded and not envy others of their achievements...
This poem is about one such girl, a princess... who truly understands what it means to be happy as the riches aren't the things that are making her happy!!

This bright day outside
Is of no use to me,
Because the pain and darkness inside
Has blinded me...
I seem to be walking
On a long dark road,
All I am staring
Is this long road....
Screaming for help
I call out to somebody, anybody,
But for my help
Comes nobody...
I'm cold and I'm lost
And lonely beyond words,
To everyone, playing a host
But no one to help me in this whole world...
Does anyone care -
About what I want,
At their blank faces, I stare -
Freedom is all I want...
This palace, this gold
Is not what I want,
I don't want to be like this, when I grow old
Yes, freedom is all that I want...
In this palace, I study
I play and I have to behave,
I don't have a single buddy
I'm trapped in this never ending cave...
I lost my childhood
I never played in rain,
Or hide and seek in the woods
It is too much of the pain...
I want freedom
From this over-protected world,
I want freedom
From this make belief world...
I want to fly free
Like others of my age,
I want to live my life
I want to get out of this cage...!
